DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR WEAKER SECTIONS :
MGP has been successfully operating a unique distribution system for more than 29 years for the benefit of more than 20,000 families.  This system protects our members against sub-standard products, possible adulteration, excessive prices and short-changing in weights and measures.

Now we feel that there is an urgent need to extend the benefits of this distribution system to people in the weaker section of our society.  We are planning to extend this system to the maid servants of our members.  A list of a few essential commodities to be supplied to families in this class has been worked out, keeping in mind their particular needs, buying habits and limited budget.

At present, some buying groups in Vile Parle and Andheri will get this benefit on experimental  basis. This system will then be extended to all buying groups in the near future.
 
STUDY & RESEARCH :
Study & Research Wing (link) undertakes study of various topics of consumer interest, analyses the same and uses it to make representations to Government or for launching campaigns or for filing public interest litigation.(list of topics analyzed and /or represented)
 
ORGANISATION WING:
Organisation Wing makes special efforts to encourage the citizens to form Grahak Sangh (Buying Groups) in different localities.  It has constituted regional Committees and helps them take up issues at the local level.
 
PRESS COLUMNS:
MGP runs regular columns in various newspapers. A weekly column in Marathi news paper ‘Lok Satta’ is being run by MGP for last more than 13 years. (Link to all our articles by category/ not by date)
 
AD-WATCH CLUB
MGP has set up an Ad-Watch Club to monitor ads in print / electronic media and prevent offending / objectionable ads.  Number of objectionable ads. have been withdrawn / modified after Ad watch Club raised objections.  Ad Watch Club also aims at creating awareness about the influence of ads on consumers and conducts “Good Ad, Bad Ad” contests for school children.  Ad-Watch Club is also gearing up to launch a massive campaign to demand a comprehensive legislation to control and regulate advertising in India.
 
CONSUMER AWARENESS PROGRAMMES:
MGP conducts short courses for creating awareness among students, housewives and others.
 
RADIO/TV PROGRAMMES:
MGP has been spreading consumer awareness through regular Radio and TV programmes in Marathi and also in Hindi.
